I recently had to make a time-sensitive decision that would impact several people close to me. Whether I said “Yes” or “No” it would mean someone would benefit but another person would have negative consequences. I was so full of anxiety. I am known to be a peacemaker and I didn’t want anyone to suffer. The more I thought about it, the more anxiety I had and I just couldn’t see any positive outcome no matter what decision I made.
It was a beautiful day, so I decided to go for a walk. While I walked, I prayed and asked God for wisdom to make the right decision. I prayed in the Spirit and I prayed with understanding. When I got back I had a phone call to make to give my answer. As I sat with the phone in my hand not knowing what to do, the answer came to me. I had been asking all the wrong questions. When I made the phone call, I asked “Is there a way to delay making this decision so that a few other things could fall into place first?” The answer I got was “Yes, it isn’t done often, but there is a way we can do it.”
In James 1:5, it says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” God has all the answers and His favour rests upon us if we know and trust Him. All I had to do was ask and God showed me what to do. He cares about all the intricate and minute details of our lives and He is waiting for us to come to Him with our cares and concerns.
After the phone call, I took some time to thank Him and praise Him for His goodness. He is a mighty God and wants to show Himself strong on our behalf. Just come to Him today and give all your cares and concerns to Him. He will always have an answer and will give you the wisdom you need to make right decisions.
